Corrigendum in respect of Press Release dated 02/05/2002
The activity column of Item No 23 (Springer-Verlag GmbH & Co) may be read as publishing & re-printing of scientific, technical, medical and other non-fiction books, in electronic or printed form and for marketing, export-import licensing of books. The approval is subject to the condition that the company will not carry out the business of publication of any newspaper or journal of any type, including scientific or technical journals, in accordance with the extant print media policy in force.

PRESS RELEASE
On the recommendations of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board(FIPB), the Commerce & Industry Minister Shri Murasoli Maran has approved 37 proposals of Foreign Direct Investment amounting to around Rs. 580.00 crore. The major investment proposals pertain to sectors such as chemicals & petro-chemicals, NBFC activities, automobiles, bottling & sale of LPG, paints, hotels & tourism, textiles, ports and software development. A list of proposals cleared is enclosed.
