In pursuance of the announcement in the Union Budget for 1999-2000, the Government has set up the Foreign Investment Implementation Authority (FIIA) in the Ministry of Industry. The resolution for setting up the FIIA has been published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part I Section I on 9.8.99 and a press release has also been issued on 16.8.99. To facilitate quick translation of FDI approvals into implementation, provide a proactive one stop aftercare service to foreign investors by helping them obtain necessary approvals, sort out operational problems and meet with various government agencies to find solutions to problems, the FIIA has identified separate regions on the basis of regional distribution of FDI approvals. It has been decided to hold the region-wise meetings of the FIIA as per following schedule :
Foreign Collaboration approval holders are requested to send their problems and suggestions at least 15 days before the meeting addressed to the following for consideration by the FIIA : Joint Secretary (SIA) or Director (Foreign Collaboration)
